RSS Style Customization + Real News = DailyMe

I love the customized aspects of the web, and have been a fan of MyYahoo for years, though I've always felt that it could be a lot more. Now, I am certainly not alone in this POV, but people have different impressions of what more should look like.

For me, it's something like DailyMe, a site currently in beta. DailyMe offers a customized hard news format that lets me select the kind of news I am most interested in and get news -- actual mainstream news -- delivered to me on a schedule I choose.

DailyMe offers three "views" -- a Top News jumping off point of stories selected by pro editors, a Daily We of the most popular news stories chosen by members, and of course the Daily Me -- my customized news platform.I get to choose my content by category, keyword, new source, or specific news feeds. Then I get to choose the time for when my page is put together -- or indeed multiple times throughout the day.

Custom content isn't new, but what I like about their platform is that this is real news -- not just opinion.

The only thing I have to wish for now is mainstream media that focus more on issues and less on Paris Hilton.

Thanks for reading, and don't forget to write.
